My defenders have no idea what offside trap is.

Hello, can someone explain why my defenders act like this <https://gamerdvr.com/gamer/skwara-pl/video/180114337>? I have had this issue since FIFA 23, which happens in 60% of matches. It's impossible to defend when my defenders are in one line with the keeper. I tried a lot of tactics and instructions - it's not changing anything at all.

Current tactic:

Def:

4231 balanced 45 45

Off:

45 Balanced Direct Passing 6 2 2

Instructions:

GK sweeper

lb rb stay back and overlap

CBS default

spd stay back, cut passing lanes,

cams get into the box for cross, come back on defence

st go behind

  • @SkwaraIPLI Step up all of your back line and then it will act like an offside trap. Unfortunately, any attacker with positioning higher than 86 can beat the offside trap (in close call situations).

@westreal42 It's not a solution. To be honest I'm not talking about offside trap. The gap between cdms and defense line is HUGE. About stepping up the defense line.... a lot of players playing in a similar way or even deeper and they don't have a problem with it.
  • @SkwaraIPLI I had two attackers through on goal, two defenders chasing them so I decided to hold off and stop chasing and brought my keeper out to one of the attackers, knowing that he would pass the ball to the other attacker and score, and it would be ruled offside, he scored and the goal stood.

havent had this happen since beta but it happened several times. I also had offside called when passing to a player completely clear of the back line and not ahead of player. I didnt get to grab video unfortunately.
