Players Pace vs CPU Pace not correct

Tell me how a 30 year old player with a pace of 77 Acceleration and 84 Spring speed who has been playing the entire game and beat a 24 year old player who was brought on as a sub around 60 mins who also has a 88 accel and speed of 89 be beaten by the 30 year old?   This is impossible.  The guy moved so fast he was on warp drive to come in and take the ball away.  This was toward the end of the match as well.   I dont see CPU pace lining up with their stats.  I see the user pace being sluggish and not correct vs. the CPU, its like they have jet packs at times especially at the end of a close game, almost like the game is compensating by giving the CPU an advantage.

EA, explain that.
