I'm playing this game ever since the '99 version, and since around 2004 only Seasons or the previous equivalent. This used to be an amazing game, with such great battles between various teams.
The last couple of years I've seen it becoming worse and worse, but this year they really hit the bottom. Since a few years it is clear that some teams are really advantaged compared to others. The last 2 years it was PSG, the 4 years before that it was Barcelona.
This year it's Real Madrid. The difference with other teams is just disgusting. I'm playing Man City for years now. They don't have bad stats, BUT no fast players (except Doku). And speed is the only thing you need in this game. It doesn't matter how skillful you are or how good your team is on paper, just throw in all your fastest players in random positions and kick balls to the front. That's all you need.
It does feel as if Real NEEDS to win its games. Unbelievable how bad your team becomes when facing Real, how many penalties you conceive while not even touching your controller, how many passes that go into the wrong directions, how fast they react compared to other teams.. And I can't count the number of times Vini Jr scored, passed or ran straight through my defenders.
Not mentioning the endless list of other bugs in this game.
For 20 years the release date of the new EA Football game was marked in my agenda, but I think I'm gonna wait it out this year. If the reviews are again this bad as you read everywhere for this one, I quit.
