EA this is a £60 Game is it??
This is absolutely atrocious!! I am not even touching my controller and this happens every now and again. This game has been rush released by the looks of it. You should have just patched FIFA 23, up...

@Heman_Superman The only expectation I have, is that it works. I'm not aiming for the clouds here, if you spend £60 on something then the least you expect is that it works properly and this game clearly doesn't.
EA have got a lot to answer to here. Every day, someone posts up with issues with the game, but they are quite happy to continue to take peoples money for it. Why on earth did they not test the game before releasing it? If EA say they tested it then they are lying, or the people that "tested it" are, because if they had tested it, there is no way that they would have released it in this state.
If the developers are reading this, then I think it's about time you looked for a different career path, because developing a football game isn't one of your strong suits

Its first and foremost a management issue. There is absolutely no way an entry-level QA analyst missed the fact that the menus dont work. And this is coming off of the back of working menus from the prior year. Someone has designed new menus, and my guess is that they have given these to a relatively new, inexperienced developer to work on, because its 'not critical' to the broader game. Last years menu guy has been promoted to work on, I dont know, custom tactics! Well, this poor sucker (new menu guy) hasn't managed to get it working properly, the QA have definitely flagged it as a problem (because all you need to do to identify the issue is have working eyes), but somebody somewhere decided that this was acceptable quality to release the game in, owing to financial pressures. Its almost like there aren't actually enough people working on the game. Which is still amazing given you have a full-working base in FIFA23. Anyway, I dont want to derail the OPs thread but I'll say I'm definitely not going to put myself through Weekend League this weekend, and I may not play until this thing is actually working semi-properly.
@nightrunner28 don't worry about derailing my thread at all. Your comments are great and I think the last part summed up how a lot of us are feeling. I saw someone elses comment on another post and the person said they had went back to using FIFA 23 and what a difference.
I know EA haven't got FIFAs backing on this game, but the main frame of the game was already there so there's no excuse for them getting this game so badly wrong.
People have been saying the defence needs fixing for years so you would have thought the developers would have looked at public opinion and focused on things like that, than putting their main focus onto the menus. At the end of the day, menus are just shiny wrapping paper in my opinion. I'd rather have a basic menu that works.
You hit the nail on the head there. I think it was released due to financial constraints. They could have still made quite a bit of money had they just released patches that they could have charged money for, to update FIFA 23, while they spend time making a game they can be proud of, for release in 2024. I doubt anyone at EA can look at the game in its current state, and say they are proud of the game they made
@Heman_Superman I agree, minor glitches I can handle. The game is filled with glaring errors though, and there's no excuse for that really.
Touching on what @nightrunner28 said with it being a management issue. I think with time fast approaching for release after the big build up, with public anticipation for the latest release, there was a lot of pressure to get the game finished. I understand mistakes can happen in that case. Knowing they had made these mistakes and releasing it regardless, there's no excuse for. I'm sure the fan base would have understood if the game was put back, had they issued a statement explaining why the release date was put back.
I think that might also have been me saying I went back to FIFA 23 🙂 ! It was really just easy and fun to play. The controls felt familiar and really responsive compared to EA FC 24.
Coming back to the management issues at EA, I dont actually think they can delay the game by very much given that the schedule is pretty much fixed and the same every year, barring 1 or 2 "innovations" to try and get people to spend more money on packs. Anyways, its all money geared. These guys knew the state the game was in, but they also knew several million players had their wallets open ready to spend $60+ on it the moment it was available, so I think they view quality from the standpoint of how much money they can make. Its pure corporate BS. Im sure that there are developers who worked hard on this game who feel embarrassed and disappointed that it was released in this state, and honestly I'm not being malicious when I say that I hope everyone abandons the game and plays something else, because its literally the only way the clowns running the show over there are going to wake up and go - "oh damn, didn't hit target! I'm not getting my bonus, no new cars or holidays for me 😢 " and then, maybe, they'll actually consider producing a decent product out of the gate. The challenge is that there is a world of addicts hooked on this low-quality crack.
