First thing, what mode are you playing. If it's Ultimate Team I can't help.
If it's Seasons Mode then...
Play calm. Find a formation that makes you feel comfortable. Do not pull players out of position. Be calm when defending.
Work out what the opponents game play style is... Down the middle? Playing to get into the side of the 18 yard box? Crossing early? Figure them out then try and stop that.
Be calm in possession. DO NOT constantly sprint around. Play passes in to players and shift the ball about. Stay calm (Can't say that enough).
Do not give up even if a couple of goals down.
Do not be afraid to change formations, custom tactics etc... during the match to try and get a goal.
