Based on your description, it seems like the settings file for your EA Sports FC 24 profile may have been damaged. Did you encounter any issues prior to this? Did the game crash unexpectedly?

To troubleshoot this issue, please try moving the existing EA Sports FC 24 settings folder from the Documents folder to a different location on your computer, such as the desktop. Then, start a new game without modifying the name of the new profile and see if the game works properly. 

After testing the new game, you can try restoring the old settings file by moving it back to its original location in the Documents folder. Test the game again to see if the issue has been resolved.
