Cannot evolve a base icon after applying the Red FUT Champs

Evolution you're trying to activate: Legends of the Pitch
Name, Rating, and Version of the Item you're selecting for this Evolution: David Beckham, 88, Base Icon
Do you have other versions of the same player? No
Did you discard another Evo item of that player in the past? No
Error message received when you try to select the player: No error message, he just does not show up in the eligible player list, despite meeting all the requirements of the evo

    @asromafanisme As far as I know, answer lies in your problem statement - "evolving a base icon after turning them red. It was supposed to be cosmetic change only"
    In game, cosmetic change meaning card type change. Since evolution has requirement of card of type of base icon card, your red card is ineligible for this evolution.
