Cant convert loan player to concept player to remove from squad

Hi I keep trying to convert my king loan to a concept player to remove him from my squad and it’s not working. I cant do it for any of my loan players that have been used up. After I click convert to concept player it shows his blue card and then nothing and he’s still in my squad
