It doesn't matter. In soccer, if you forfeit, it's a loss. Part of the reason people quit is because they fear. So then, why give them the loss but not the opponent the win? It's practically wasting their time.
Or say they miss a pen or 2 in shootout and leave, all that and you don't even get win let alone they still get wl point. Overall the gaming experience is actually better to quit when losing a shootout than it is to carry on that's how pathetic it is.
