I can’t eveolve Peter crouch

I have tried several times to evolve Peter crouch into the base hero catch up evolution and yet everytime it says that I have an in progress evo of him however I have discarded and bought him several times loosing me coins in the process and even loaded up ea fc points to do the evo out of my own money to do so but it will still not let me and it is quite frustrating
