Players clashing into each other

So I remember when FIFA hadn’t the option for defenders clashing into each other. Some years ago you (EA) choose that this could happen. What is the positive thing in this? I really don’t understand. 

like this weekend league, I had two defenders clashed and left the ball for the opponent. They tried to get up, but clashed again and fell. The attacker of the opponent got the ball and scored. 

Can someone please explain the added value of this?
