Qualified for champs already and now have to qualify again

So i played champs earlier today and qualyfied. Now i see that i have to play champs again for me to qualify again? Wtf?

@DizoriaN At least you'll have earned some tradeable rewards along the way. But yeah, 'tis a new season starting so qualification to UT Champs will start anew also.

So wait...
He plays earlier today gets his qualification and it resets because of a new season?
But the season didnt end and we get our rewards in about 19hrs.
Looks to me that he should have qualified and play this coming WL.
