Removing Red Evo from Players for Icon Evo Compatibility

Like others have mentioned, we cannot use certain players (Base Icons with Ultimate Team Champions cosmetic evolution ("Red Evo"))  for "Icon Evo", even though they would normally be a good fit (in my case Gerrard's card).

I attempted a workaround by quick selling a player and then recovering him, hoping this might reset the Red Evo status, but unfortunately, this method didn't yield any results.

I'm curious if there's any possibility of removing the Red Evo feature from a player, especially if we're not expecting a patch that would make these cards compatible.

Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I mean, just allow us to remove the red evo from the card...
