2. To stake or risk money, or anything of value, on the outcome of something involving chance.

For example, in EA SPORTS FC 24 (specifically Ultimate Team) anyone could stake money (by purchasing FC points) on the outcome of something involving chance (purchasing a pack with unknown outcomes). 

Players who are 'good enough' at EA SPORTS FC 24 can also play the game of chance of money. A lot of players have and will purchase FC points to try and increase the chance of doing so. 

Just remember, however EA want to put it, purchasing FC points in order to buy packs is gambling, and everybody who plays Ultimate Team, and has acces to the Ultimate Team Store needs to be aware.

It's about time EA accept that the Ultimate Team store is an online casino, put a minimum age rating of 18 on the Ultimate Team store, and refund consumers that were misled and have been missold FC points and FIFA points in the past. 

My account is going to be banned for this, and I probably won't be able to play the game anymore, but I'm so fed up with how bad the game is, and how disgusting EA's practises are, that I don't care anymore. Big organisations with massive profits, like EA, need to be held accountable.
