why does my team not know how to play

At first I thought it was just that couple day phase where EA make your gameplay bad or team not be able to defend, pass, run away from the ball, etc, so you feel like you have to buy fc points and get a better team but its been about 2 months and I don't feel like the game is good anymore, my last match I played I get pulled back when on an attack, fouled and someone literally body slammed me trying to get the ball from a header but missed the ball then I decide I had enough so I slide them from the front, straight penalty and red card? The game has become unenjoyable now. Do I have to buy some fc points for like £1 just to make my team play well for a month? And a lot of the time when I play people in FUT champs they can pass and the ball will go to their player but if I pass to someone 2 meters away from me it is the worst thing even and loose the ball every time, you might just say I'm bad at the game but when I play single player modes like career mode (I play wc-legendary) they can pass just fine. Please I really need to know how to fix my game of if its just that EA hates me. 

edit: Also what is the pack weight? I got scammed by opening a 150k pack and i got 20k worth of players in it now im broke, completely fed up with this awful game
