Beginning of the match is probably one of those times you'd have taken a draw, but to lose a 2 goal lead against rivals will always feel like points lost even if they were favourites.

Losing a two goal lead to your rivals is not going to win Frank over with the fans. I know he was liked by the fans after his first stint but the nostalgia feeling can quickly fade if things do not turn around.

You're right, except I had just lost to FC Midtjylland in the game before, so I really wanted a win in this one. And the first half really pointed in that direction, so it was a huge disappointment to let them back in.

The funny thing is - he is particularly more well-liked these days (IRL) due to his impressive work with Brentford. I liked him too in his Brøndby days, and I bought his narrative about being on a process to get to the top, also relying heavily on youth players he was familiar with from his work as a Denmark youth international coach.
I remember a lot of the fanbase not having the same patience as me, wanting results faster and ridiculing him for his use of the phrase "it's a process". So if not for anything else, his time at Brentford has certainly shown this particular fanbase that he knows what he's talking about.

Maybe he should go to United. Ten Hag has 'a process' that doesn't seem to be working. Maybe Frank's does... - JustinCase01105 months agoSeasoned Ace

It does seem that United as a club seem to have a pretty poor record of turning good managers into poor ones. Perhaps the players are also responsible at some point. (longer discussion perhaps, let's just leave it there...😉)

Gaining two points on Nordsjaelland. Assuming a top side wins the cup, 4th place would leap you into Europe, correct?
- thurlow8855 months agoSeasoned Ace
I'm sure you've mentioned it before but hadn't stuck with me that their is a connection between Brønby and Palace. Palace have a few youngsters who'd be looking for game time so might be good for both sides checking them out.
2 wins in a row and this time when losing 2 goal lead managed to find a winner and some results going your way.

Jacob Larsen would be a very good signing. I remember using him previously in a save. A great time to add a few players, with the trend of losing leads lately, maybe a few new players can turn the trend around.

Well, almost. The 4th place would get a shot at Europe, if a top three side wins the cup. But as the league is divided into two halves, when all teams have played everyone home and away, there is a "carrot" for the winner of the bottom half. So the 4th place will also need to beat the winner of the bottom half in a playoff match to get into the Conference League.

When the chairman Jan Bech (responsible for Thomas Frank leaving in 2016) sold the majority of his shares, GFH - Global Football Holdings - bought them and now own the majority of the club. They are also invested in several other clubs, for instance ADO Den Haag, who loaned the right back Justin Che last season. So I am thinking about exploring the GFH-network for potential new players along the way.
Besides Brøndby, these are the clubs owned by GFH, as far as I know:
- ADO Den Haag, Netherlands.
- Waasland-Beveren, Belgium.
- AD Alcorcon, Spain.
- Estoril, Portugal.
- Augsburg, Germany.
- Real Salt Lake, USA.
- Crystal Palace, England.

Yes, I actually saw him as a dream signing. And after a few hard years at Hoffenheim, I don't see it as too unrealistic for him to try to reinvent himself in Denmark. It looks like he's just signed a new deal at Hoffenheim though, no longer appearing to be running out of contract. Bummer...

Quite confusing: am I to understand that it's better to be top of the bottom half (in effect, 7th) than outside the top 4? (5th, 6th)

In terms of European football, then yes.
There are some money prices from finishing in the top half, and obviously you can't be relegated from there either. But yeah, as long as you're not in immediate danger of joining the relegation battle, then yes, a 7th place is in deed preferable to finishing 5th or 6th, even 4th, depending on who the cup winner is.
Basically I do enjoy ending the season against likeminded teams. Top vs top and bottom vs bottom. Makes for very interesting season ends, like last season, where both title contenders failed to win their final game.
The only downside of this (IMO) is the unfairness of the 7th place often being preferable to a bottom of the top half finish. And the speculation that often goes with it. But I suppose that's a price to pay for ending the season with 10 games against likeminded and even opponents.

I had no idea the league finished like that. Interesting to hear how 7th can be better than 4-6. With your winning streak, you set yourself up for a difficult end to the season.

Yes, that is quite odd. If I finish 3rd and need a Playoff against the 7th place to get into Europe (if none of top 3 teams win the cup), then I'll certainly feel that it's a bit unfair. But it is what it is. Eso si que es.

Very good signing to bring Larsen in. If he stays healthy, at worst he is a good bench option to have. Trying to fit him into the lineup is a good problem to have for Frank, players are too good to drop right now. One of those strange moves where the club signs a player but then loans them for two years. They are paying some wages now in hopes he will create a bigger sell on fee for the future.
