You can make a darn good team from the players on this list: Laudrup, Schmeichel, Vilfort (didn't he score the decider in Euro 1992?...), Uche, Sand, Elmander, Kohn-Dehli, Hradecky, Nørgaard...
I just did something similar. I compiled a list of players that made it to Ajax senior youth team (u18) but never broke through at Ajax, yet are still in FC 25...: ended up with 72 players. Some became world class players some real unknowns, some hidden diamonds... useful for future transfers - 'returning home', that idea...
There was actually a tragic case with Vilfort at this tournament. He travelled home at some point, missing one or two games, because his daughter was hospitalized with cancer. But he returned to Sweden to play the final - and then he scored the 2-0 goal after - let's be honest - massive dominance by the brilliant German side. His daughter died a few weeks later...
There's a Danish movie about this, "Summer of 92". It's actually quite good, especially for us nostalgic Denmark "roligans"...

The story about Vilfort's child was known to me.
My father won the betting pool that year at his job, being the only one to bet on a Danish tournament win.
Ca. 120 people each chipping in f 10,- each (that's Netherlandic guilders, there were no Euros yet), so he won 1200 guilders (around 500 euros nowadays), because the Danish football team decided to show up in Sweden.

Wow, huge respect to your old man! Too bad he "only" made the bet at his job. I reckon he could have won even bigger, if he'd made that bet elsewhere. Don't say he bet on Greece in 2004 too, then I might think he is that guy from Back to the Future. Biff Tannen, or whatever his name was, haha...
