Nygaard is a winger, right? Right- or left-footed, or biped? More a high speed train, or someone with more ball control and agility that eventually could become a CAM, or classic 10?

Where does Nygaard eventually want to end up? What's his big dream club or destination? Who is his great example?

He's right-footed. His pace is in the late 70's, so he can¨t rely solely on pace. He is currently coming on as a winger, but could definitely end up preferring the number 10 spot in stead. His youth team "rival" Felix Nissen is more the high speed train, racking a pace in the late 80's. But his potential isn't far from his current OVR, whilst Nygaard is "showing great potential".

Dreams, goals and idols will maybe be elaborated somewhere down the road.

In this incredible pace, you'll end up with 6 or 7 goals against (which would be phenomenal) by the end of the championship round. But I'll give a little bit more leeway: if you keep the number of goals against in single digits (9 or lower), the team achieved something extraordinary...

I agree. I haven't seen anything like this. But this also has the feeling of a jinx. I just conceded three in my next game, all in one half 😃

Oh no! So close to the beginning of the championship round, it increases by 75%!... I hope it's just a one-off. Brøndby now tied, København close behind.

Haha, yeah that was a huge increase, percent-wise! Honestly there was also a part of me bring happy with conceding a few. Letting 7 in from 21 games is still crazy good. 4 was out of this world crazy and made me look like a cheat....

So, realistically speaking: there are still four teams in it for the championship, while still being in the cup. Mathematically, it's highly improbable to let European football slip through your hands. But which European tournament? Obviously you're going for the title & Champions League, but for a team that hasn't had any noteworthy success: getting into Europe only a 3rd time in existence would be a landslide achievement for such a modest club (even for Danish standards).

Yeah, absolutely. A top half finish is already a landslide achievement, doing so for the first time in 20 years. So every European competition on top of that will just be seen as a welcome bonus.

I haven't quite figured out how the European qualifiers work, now that the game wants more Danish teams to qualify than we see IRL. The 3rd place gets the playoff against number 7, whilst 4, 5 and 6 seem to qualify automatically, depending on who the cup winner is. But what if I end in 3rd place and lose the playoff? Then I would imagine that I won't qualify, unless I win the cup. I suppose we'll soon find out.

Based on history Aarhus shouldn't be an issue, however you couldn't get the better of København with Viborg (even with Brøndby, only 3 wins from 8 times in the first two seasons).

Quite a thorough response there, tracking down previous results against these opponents. Thanks. And yeah, two goalless draws against the Copenhagen side was decent, but I am still to beat them with Viborg.

A bit of a downer: a near perfect regular season, but in the championship round things are looking to unravel, with the much dreaded 3rd place in play as well...

However if home advantage plays a role, one could say the toughest part has been and the easier bit comes now. And you can still claim having the best defence in the league.

Yes indeed. The league format does have this potential to create different scenarios from the regular season to the championship or relegation rounds. Some teams break a little, when it's top opponents week in week out for 10 games. And teams who have struggled for most part of a season can sometimes put a string of brilliant performances and results together, when they only play other bottom teams.

I do believe 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat is good for a club like Viborg against these opponents. Maybe it's not enough for a league title, but I would still call it a successful outcome so far in the Championship Round.

Home/away form has played a part this season, so you never know. In the regular season I won 29 points at home (9 wins, 2 draws) and 18 points away (4 wins, 6 draws, 1 defeat). So you may have a point here.
