It's yours to lose, now: you're in the lead!
- Viborg 60
- København 59
- Brøndby 58

True. A wonderfully close title race it seems to be!

And just like that, back in second place. The race is so close.
Pretty interesting you keep having low possession stats against the same side. Their system must counter yours pretty well.
A huge week coming up with two must win games.

The deciders are now coming: important not to end on that dreaded (and unlogical) 3rd place.
However, you do have a key advantage which is a superior goal difference, which currently puts you ahead of Brøndby: this is where your minimalist approach with a superior defense pays dividend.

Yes, I couldn't believe how I kept being bossed (possession-wise) by this team. They didn't get a lot of points from it though, so I guess joke was on them in the end. But it was really strange, who they just turned into prime Barcelona / Man City, every time I played against them. And they are not even known as a tiki-taka team in Denmark anyway. Not to my knowledge anyway.

Yes indeed. The goal difference could turn out to be pivotal in this close title race. I was going to write "historically close", but I didn't want to check if other title races had ever been this close with three teams in it. 2023/24 had three as well, until FC København slipped in the penultimate game of the season. Then it was all down to Brøndby and FC Midtjylland on the final day.

Tricky season ending: in the league it's all or nothing now. In the cup you're facing Silkeborg: thusfar with VFF one win, two draws and a defeat against them.
However, I'd hope that two title battles and experience in Champions League ought to give you the edge in the cup final. But essentially it's three must-win finals now!

Title hopes are slim now. You cannot afford to drop any points and need a little help.
The cup final should be yours. The team has the experience and can beat anyone in one match.
I fear for the league though. It is not looking good for you.

Yes, that's true. I could win all three and still come short in the league though. On the other hand the league format ensures that all the top teams play other top teams in the final games. So nothing is certain yet. But it was a huge letdown to lose the lead against FC København and end up losing the game in injury time.

That's true. I need help in the league. Fortunately it's a tough schedule for all involved, with Brøndby and FC København clashing on the final day. So I could be lucky to have a slim chance still.

The decider at home vs. København: this truly is an all-or-nothing game, as you cannot sit back and play for a draw. That might drop you back to that frightful 3rd place, though a cup win might then save you from that dreadful play-off.
This is it: will we look back and think they were so close (nearly a title, nearly a cup), or will you push through and claim legendary silverware?

This is the making of a storybook ending. You need to win and have your favorite club win in order for you to win the title. As @Danimal5981 mentioned, it’s all or nothing. You will need to attack and not lose focus on your game while score watching the other game.

True. It's Viborg - FC Midtjylland in the final game though. Brøndby and FC København go head to head as well. Two derbies on the final day deciding the title. Couldn't have set this better up myself.
Regarding the Playoff, there is an unfortunate scheduling error in FC25. After the final league game, a date is set in June for the playoff match between 3rd and 7th. But before that we also have the cup final. So IF I end in 3rd, I could actually win the cup final before the playoff match, removing the significance from that game entirely from Viborg's point of view.

Indeed. As mentioned above, two derbies end the season and decide the title race. Lovely.

That's a shame. Close again, but again not quite: it's ironic that Midtjylland may have cost you the title and now Silkeborg can undo even more (cup and/or play-off), while the main fight throughout the season was with København and Brøndby...
Upside is that in Europa League or Conference League you might be able to get further than Champions League.

Thanks, yeah I get the irony. Fighting all season with the two big ones, then having the two rivals come in and interfere in the end. However, the 2-1 defeat to FC København was probably where I lost it. Leading 1-0 in the second half, it was almost game over losing that match with only two games left. I was lucky to get a second chance, but that was where I lost it IMO.
I agree that Europa League and Conference League could be a better fit for Viborg and any Danish club for that matter. You know, six clubs entered the UEFA competitions this season. FC København and Viborg in the Champions League: Both eliminated in League Phase. The other four: All reaching the Round of 16. At least.
