Skov was the surprise inclusion on the bench ahead of the AGF fixture when the teams were announced. I decided to include the young player because we looked a little tired and usual sub Diagne had a 5 day knock going into the game.
The game stated slowly but Widell made it one nil early on making a run from the midfield, latching on the end of a Johns cross. Widell made it two in a break out performance scoring just before half time with am arrowed shot into the bottom right of the corner. John had cramped up at half time so I decided its time to try Skov.
Ross knicked it from their defender and went through on goal in the 58th minute scoring to make it 3. That was how it would end. A totally rampant display against a very good side. MOTM was Widell. After the game the press singled out Widell and rightly so. (Forgot to screenshot but we had 11 shots 7 on target they had 2 with 0.)
DRAMA as player kicks off
After the match Bomholt came to me asking for more game time. I reacted aggressively informing him that I make the decisions and will decide who plays. He stormed out the dressing room. This type of attitude from a long player doesn’t go down well with myself at all. Bomholt was immediately issued a disciplinary. Hopefully this can be kept as an isolated incident.
In more pressing news young Asger Skov came to me after the game thanking me and asking for another chance. Whilst he was not amazing in his cameo he has a bright future and I asked him to remain patient.
The one player who has really surprised me so far this season I have to say is Ross, He has taken to the team like a duck to water.
Shock sale – Star CB leaves
Red Bull Salzburg have signed Kramer on a 3 year deal from us on a £1.5 million deal. We were at pressure to sell the 25 year old as despite him being a key member of the defence and by far the stand out centre half at the club he made hints that he was unwilling to sign a new contract despite being in the final year of his deal. This sale ensures financial stability and I believe we have the numbers to cope. It also allows a new player to step up and establish themselves further. As stated we need to ensure that the club is run sustainably so I hope that the fans understand the decision.
Our next match showed us against Vejle Boldklub away. We had chances in the first half but couldn’t break the deadlock. But that all changed straight after kick off when Iredale got his first goal from kick off. Guess who got the assist? John… Again. We won this game with relative comfort. I notice they played Callum Paterson of English football league fame in striker. MOTM Iredale.
