Advantage not working

I’m finding consistently that the ref will call an advantage, I’ll stop play or wait to take the foul, and the ref won’t call the foul. Alternatively I’ll make a quick pass within seconds of the advantage being called and possession is lost, and the refs calls play on. Not reflective of the actual rules of football right now.
