Controller stops working in game

Im a pc player with a ps4 controller a perfectly working one i can play on dwuad battles but sometimes when i go on division rivals for ex my controller doesnt work in the match but if i press options i can scroll thru the settings but not play the match?!?! How does this work lf solutions
