controller/gamepad not working on pc

when i open the app it does not let me use my controller only my keyboard. when i go to kick off my ps5 controller appears there but for some reason it only let me choose the keyboard option to play, even if i connect my controller with a cable it still only let's me use the keyboard. I tested the controller in the old fc24 and it works perfectly, only in this new one it doesn't work.
