The preset locked configurations for all default tactics are ridiculous, i.e. have a defensive line depth of 75 and aggressive attacking when attempting to finish out a match and preserve a draw or win. The only method for hiring assistant coaches for Custom tactics that somewhat functions is to use Standard tactic coaches only. Whatever level the coach is configured to (Expert, Advanced, or Novice), their level will be one less than that when using Custom tactics, e.g. Expert level denigrated to Advanced. Best option is to only hire five start Expert Standard tactic coaches, and live with the lowered performance enhancements to squad players. In actuality, the usage of Custom tactics with reduced assistant coach benefits is more realistic, and additionally reduces the overpowered player growth that occurs when selecting a default standardized sheet tactic.
