Great opening post. I’ve also been playing football games since the ZX Spectrum days.
Here we are in 2025 and my hands get sore trying to wrestle my players to move in a largely offline mode like squad battles.
The gameplay styles I can handle the choices they make from time to time but let me play the way my players that I’ve paid for and worked for can do.
My home set up is as good as it can be and they don’t seem to know why a percentage of their players can’t get the right experience.
In my industry you focus on the bottom 5% experiences and you figure out how you can make those better - that’s how you learn about your product and develop it.
EA as a company have the worst customer service I’ve seen anywhere. I think genuinely they don’t know what is wrong most of the time and they approach it in the wrong way - assuming that the customer is wrong.
I used to worry about getting better, watching videos, reading tips. I now realise it is completely about connection and gameplay.
