@lansenyl The biggest crime this game commits is making you feel like there's a ceiling where no matter what you do you just can't improve on your own terms.
I'll elaborate on what I mean by on your own terms: Learning how to time tackles, weight a pass properly, send it in the proper direction, play a ball into a space, set up pass moves say 3 passes in advance, learning how to time tackles properly, when to tackle when to hold back, which lanes to block, when to shoot, when not to shoot, look for support etc. All the things you would get better at over time by playing the game and coming up with your own way of playing.
The ceiling is ultimately the interference from the certain mechanics/A.I. and the downright illogical things that happen multiple times throughout the match. The ceiling is also the linear style at which you have to play to be successful at this game. The usual high press, low block, counter attacking style you see every match.
This is what at least me takes this game from a face off between 2 people to see who can outwit who and turns into a 50/50 roll of the dice, anything goes luck fest.

- lansenyl3 months agoSeasoned Veteran@Tauntmatt It really is something that baffles me. I spent years learning the ins and outs of this sport as a player that played multiple positions. I also spent my younger years gaming on COD and R6 as well as FIFA every single year, every damn day.
Playing FC25 during the trial really just broke my brain as I tried to comprehend what was happening on my screen. Instead of the game being about who can break down the others defense with skills, or quick accurate passes, it becomes a game based on which player is willing to abuse the mechanics and which one isn't.
Was this done on purpose by the developers or do they not realize that the community isn't willing to learn the sport or play proper football unless they're forced to?- 3 months ago@lansenyl I think it's 2 things that have destroyed this game outside of the gameplay being horrible:
1. The pro scene/streamer scene, they find exploits/meta mechanics and promote it. Think last year with that 70 depth auto press tactic (I think it was 70 depth)
2. EA have conditioned us to not actually want to play the game but to constantly grind for objectives/rewards/evo's/sbc's. You see this in Rush where some people would rather rubber band to get their packs than actually play it.- lansenyl3 months agoSeasoned Veteran@Tauntmatt Most of the pros are worried about saying the wrong thing and ending up like Kurt. The content creators are a split group. Half of them are getting more and more frustrated and the other half are just accepting this is what the game is and we need to learn it.
EA are just turning this once great console series into a mobile game with pretty graphics and the majority of the community is blindly letting it happen.
