From watching the video and reading the articles, the thing I loved the most was the return of left stick dribbling. This brings back the fun and life to the game after FC 25 completely killed it.
However, there were also some disappointing aspects in both the video and the article. Their entire focus was on ground passes. They didn’t talk about long lofted passes, lobbed through balls behind defenders, or high crosses. Even flair passes weren’t mentioned—there was no information about whether they’ve improved their accuracy or power, or whether new passing animations or mechanics were added. None of that was covered.
Another issue is that the poor player communication system from FC 25 is still in FC 26 without any changes. That’s frustrating. I don’t want to see players suddenly stop during a run and put their hands on their head or walk around repeatedly doing awkward animations. On top of that, players in modes like Clubs and RUSH are using this system as a glitch to run faster or track back on defense quicker. That’s why it should be removed and replaced with the older system from FIFA 23 or FIFA 22.
The old communication system was smooth, couldn’t be exploited, and actually showed players’ emotions in a natural and expressive way—like when they were frustrated or calling for the ball from teammates.
As for PlayStyles, I don’t think EA can remove the system at this point—but I do believe they’ll eventually have to. Players without PlayStyles feel useless, and the overwhelming number of PlayStyles is going to limit the game’s evolution, especially between modes like Ultimate Team and Clubs.
Players are going to be forced to give up certain PlayStyles in order to keep others, which creates imbalance. It’s clear EA is struggling with how to manage this system, and I truly believe it will be removed in the future—because it’s just not sustainable.
