To return to the first part of the original post. If the buff to goalkeepers is how it looks, this shouldn't happen nearly as often. I've been an advocate for goalkeeper buffs since I picked up the game in December, and I'm glad to see they have been listening.
- Having a goalkeeper that makes essentially no saves is pointless.
- Being able to score easy goals really isn't that fun.
- Real life goalkeepers are much better than they are portrayed in this game, and even if they want it to be arcade style, keepers should still make saves.
- Being able to work an angle and correct shot selection is part of the skill gap in this game, people shouldn't rely on weak goalkeepers for goals.
- Goals are not guaranteed. Whether in real life or in the game, you shouldn't just expect to score, you have should have to earn that goal.
Too many people crying about goalkeepers is how we wound up in this position, and I've seen some people complain about the change since the FC26 gameplay deep dive. However, even when goalkeepers were at their most broken people were scoring goals. I'm happy to admit that at their most broken it was a pain, but if the balance is right it should feel more like having a capable keeper, rather than some sort of god in goal.
