Am I the only one that thinks the high press has ruined this game?
I've never had so many offsides.
When I take the attitude of,if you can't beat them join them. 2 opponents playing the high press. It just doesn't make for an enjoyable game anymore.
I want to keep playing this game,but if the enjoyment doesn't come back soon. I won't bother.
Thx Amanda,glad I'm not the only one. I know one of the ways to combat the high press is to keep switching the ball.
Just hate that theres no time. So hectic an stressy all the time.

I'm in div4,and struggling. I'll win the odd game but lose more than I win.

I don't think its the high press.
I play on 50 depth and still see my guys pressing and winning the ball with no effort from me.
When I played on 80+ depth, people just had to do that 'ball roll' or some stupid glitchy move in their half and they split me apart, rather than in my half or outside my box. They just took care of it earlier. (this is all pre-patch so idk. Defense is a LOT easier since the patch ill say that much.)
You just have to smash it long with a full power through ball or clear it. Clearances don't lock on to your nor the opponent so if you got some physical players up top, you'll win them more than not instead of the clearly favored interceptions from lobbed through balls ect...
The high press would not be as OP if the AI on your team used this so called artificial intelligence and made smart movement to make the opponent panic and drop back a bit. But since they just don't react enough to it, it's easy for opponents.
The one thing you have to do is turn back and recycle the ball again. DO NOT play into their hands. Sometimes you just have to go back and sideways to make the space and the run might come.
I know talk about possession being OP. Problem is we all watch real football where the best teams do make possession look easy. You can win the ball back from people but patience is key and often wait for the mistake rather than trying to force it. Of course forcing can also win the ball at times.
Pressure needs to be toned down. They can literally charge into you from behind and steal the ball clean every time.
Pressure is the biggest problem in this game the higher you go. That couple with seemingly manual defence with the AI winning the ball back for you (so much for manual defence). Makes for a tedious game.
In the meantime be patient with the ball and DO NOT keep holding sprint. Just use left stick movement. Sprinting only when a gap opens up.

I definitely use sprint way too much. Never occurred to me to hold off on it an just use in certain situations.
Also the part about being patient,going back and sideways.
I fall into the habit of playing too direct.
