Can someone please tell me how I can get my players to actually pass the ball as soon as I press A (pass button)? Every time I press pass or lob or through ball etc. my player does a time wasting an...

@Tauntmatt Exactly! I played football for 15 years and not every pass requires the perfect setup like the game does (rolling the ball to your dominant foot, fully pulling back your leg, etc.) it is very realistic to be able to pass the ball with power and accuracy without all the wind up animation.
But I agree with blue166, if they want to make it realistic remove all the unrealistic game play.

@GSM350 I agree with him as well in the sense I'd like the gameplay to be as realistic as possible but it's so unbalanced right now on the defensive side. It's completely bonkers, people aren't positioning there players properly when tackling there mashing buttons but because this game has this weird split second pivot where the defender will adjust their positioning mid tackle within a millisecond to get the ball.
Tackling is definitely OP on this game and that actually makes passing around near the box tedious.
There is definitely an OP recovery which gives the feel that player speed is nerfed but the spamming tackle is half the problem.
Also, the mention that Neymar for example and out run the ball is true in this game. The ball flight speed physics and someone sprinting cross field to receive is flawed.
@blue166How does Fifa from 10 years ago have better mechanics than a next gen game? It's wild hey. I remember how important it was to select a DM or CB to defend, if you didn't you'd get picked apart.
Those old games had their flaws or annual OP mechanics but is this something else.All you need to do in order to defend is just play a 5back and chase the ball with one of your attackers while holding second man press. sure you could manually cut passing lanes or try to switch to the appropriate player but that only results in bounce backs or there is too much delay.
But passing and build up is probably the most depressing thing to watch an intelligent person try to do in this game, it is either too stagnant or too chaotic. There's no sense of creativity or fun behind any of the goals I watched in whatever that pro tournament was. Its as if they all recently got into football and don't quite get the the basics of the sport when it comes to creating chances or breaking down the defense, it all looked like forced nonsense with a couple "interesting" goals.
I don't mean that as an insult to these players but in a better football sim most of those guys would just be opening packs on YouTube and sharing rat tactics. These current pros are great at doing the same thing over and over because its the only thing that works.
