1. Reboot your PC and router and retry
2. Clear the EA app cache and retry: https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
3. Check that automatic updates are enabled in the EA app settings

Somewhat of a last resort is to uninstall the app and then reinstall from a fresh download: https://www.ea.com/ea-app
