There is no point u guys discussing manual passing. EA will never implement this as it increases skill gap and make casual players stop playing. Never in a billion years will they let this happen. We can only discuss how to make this arcade game more balanced and nuanced.
I’ve played manual passing since 2007 (with a brief interruption 2021, where I actually thought the game with assisted passing was a pretty good and balanced arcade game).
The only way to play this game if u want it to be a fun simulation is offline with sliders and manual passing. Unfortunately u can’t invite players online to ur console settings. So, until then u have to play with people IRL (the horror).
- @Bajenjerka86 It’s just frustrating seeing people say passes and shots don’t go where I want them ea needs to do something. It’s like the obvious answer should be make it manual so your aim and direction actually matters. People want it but don’t want it at the same time. So your right it will never change.

There's a glitch where people are able to drift inside the invisible barrier when taking a free kick and stand 1ft away from the kick taker before it is taken.
- Tauntmatt1 year agoSeasoned Veteran@RadioShaqs Mate every attacking action stems from this crazy defense pressuring you constantly. No-one is playing build up play in any capacity. I just played 15 games of Champs. Half them were 5ATB, low possession, 9 men in the box, quick through ball counter attacking slop. And even when you don't play 5ATB people just park the bus and cede possession, pressure from the front with the fastest wingers. Run the length of the field with Foden while the A.I. stays rigid.
They win the ball, play 1/2 easy passes because when a counter attack is triggered defenders begin opening up or running in weird directions.
Rinse and repeat. For rivals, friendlies & champs. - @Tauntmatt It’s all or nothing. Unless offense is manual that’s the kind of defense you have to play. If you have 3 on you boot it cross field. It’s why the meta last year was 4321 ping pong between fullbacks. When offense isn’t manual what do you expect. They will probably just remove defensive formations instead of fixing the real issues. They have removed everything from defense.

It's not why they play like that. I don't play like that. They play like that because it turns the match into a 50/50 coin toss & makes defending low effort.
The only thing that needs nerfing are long drive balls from the edge of the box, which most of us have been calling for years.
This idea that if we nerf attacking into the ground and that will cause everyone to just start attacking is strange logic.
The attacking options are limited as it stands. Nobody even tries to put balls in the box from set pieces, corners are meh unless you move a CB around the box, crosses are way more difficult because of A.I. marking, passing lanes get shut down, weak attackers with 30 defense (stats) are able to fly in with a tackle, miss, turn around instantly and wrap there legs around from behind or jockey any Defensive player into the ground and regain it back, when you take a shot in the box the attackers run away from a spillage instantly you can't switch to them and get on the end of it because player switching, rebounds constantly square to attackers in space, hit a quick break you support will either not follow the play, run offside and run out of space towards defense.
What more can you do for the defensive side of this game? Just have 2 teams pass the ball around the back all game until we get to shoot outs.

@RadioShaqsNo. The meta was pinging balls between the fullbacks because of 70 depth which turned forward players into 90 pace Prime Maldinis and destroyed normal passing up the middle.
The entire midfield would be static, just stand around and have markers shadow them a foot away.
I wrote loads of comments about how hard it was just to get the ball up field from your box because it would rebound and deflect straight up the middle to an attacker, attackers would fly in doing the splits and just pick the ball out the air. It was a joke.
@TauntmattI hate promoting the most boring playstyle but who am I to stop you. I figured you wanted a good possession tactic. Fifa blue on youtube just released a 433 holding video where he goes down the field at a snails pace abusing the offense. Maybe look him up and try his tactics since it looks like something you would enjoy.
Blue fc tactics is the channel name. He might of changed it.

Nah I'm not doing that.
Because nothing screams entertainment like playing like Sean Dyce's Burnley for 90 minutes with a 5ATB because you don't know how to tackle, complete more than 3 passes in a "Football" game.
- @Tauntmatt He uses a 433 and plays tiki taka. I thought that’s what you wanted but might have misunderstood you.

we just cant attack, we cant outplay opponents games these days tend to make it easier for worse players in order to compete against the skilled ones.

You basically insult me than concern troll me.
Just go away dude.
- @Tauntmatt You can basically ping pong the ball down the middle avoid all the pressure and keep the ball away from the defense with tiki taka. While I think it’s boring it’s ea that needs to fix offense not you so you should use it. It would be no different if you wanted a 5 atb I would give you the best tactic for that too.

They only time I've seen people play "ping pong" passes is when they win the ball in the box and ping long balls up the pitch.
I play fast passes from back because of the relentless pressure from the front. I play "Ping Pong" passes around the box because there's usually 8/9 auto tackling, auto blocking defenders sprinting everywhere.
And you keep honing in on "Ping Pong" passes, every problem with this gameplay is downstream from the way they have implemented the defensive side of the game.
