Restrictive Matchmaking in Online Seasons
Hi, Can anyone playing the ea fc 25 beta please let us know if restrictive matchmaking works in Online Seasons? If i pick a 4 star team, will the game give me games with 5 star teams like Man City, ...

Definitely doesn’t work. I saw some games on YouTube, galatasaray vs bayern, al hilal vs city or real. Really shameful. Bye EA Fc 25, won’t buy it
Well so far playing as Chelsea, I have come up against Galy, Sporting Lisbon, Juventus, Aston Villa, Altecic, Ali.
No Bayern, Madrid, City etc...
Restrictive on, Match my settings, club type all on etc...
I do the 3-5 second search then stop and start again. Obviously right now there isn't a huge number with the game, trial etc... so not as many online yet compared to EAFC24 currently.
So it's weird. Tbh I would not care playing as Chelsea coming up against Madrid and co now and again. But all the time would get annoying of course. But that hasn't been the case so far.
So, perhaps something else is at play here and depending on location and radius so have lesser options with the star they have chosen and EAs algorithms are to at best find an opponent after a search so you get a match. Beyond that I haven't been paired with a 5 star yet at a 4.5 club.

- @dazzelecloudy Xbox Series X - Crossplay enabled.
- @blue166 that would be new gen right? which means cross play with pc, xbox series s, ps 5. so strange cos i am on ps5 myself and others here on xbox series s/x have reported meeting 5 star teams non stop. which led me to think maybe there is hope in old gen (ps4/xbox one).
i will try it out once i get home again - @blue166 i just tried again used 4 stars porto and 4.5 stars sporting lisbon - every single game was real madrid. be it an opponent found under 5 seconds, or 15 seconds. be it with cross play switched on or not. it is a shambles.
@dazzelecloudy I have maybe a solution . I play in semi assisted and restrictive, and it works, you play a team equal

@martinhoAlonso under Controls ‘semi-assisted’? i selected that plus restrictive and it cannot find me any opponent at all lol. even when i pick a 5 star team now, with ‘semi-assisted’, it does not find me any opponent

How many are online currently? Also where are you country wise?

Well yesterday in Europe it was showing nearly 4,000 online. When I connect later I will say again the numbers then.
@blue166 i saw about 4000 online yesterday too. still got real madrid non stop
I played more games today and played Sporting, Juventus and Galatasaray.

@blue166 just guessing whether you may have tried on the old gen version. since buying the game entitles you to both old and new gen versions under dual entitlement?
new gen - usually restrictive matchmaking doesnt work. old gen it tends to work better
All I know is so far with Chelsea I am meeting Sporting, Juve, Gala, Athletic etc... No Madrid or City yet. Like I say i would not mind them either here and there.

So the tip earlier in this thread about not letting the matchmaking last more than 5 seconds before backing out seems to work.
Today, I got Real Madrid twice (and quit out both times). Tried again, got an instant match and got OM which is a fair match for Crystal Palace.
We need this level of activity in the bug report thread though, not in here!
@stayloa could you try the 5 seconds search consistently and let us know? i tried to do it but still got real madrid when i got an opponent under 5 seconds with a 4 star team
