Skill moves, is there any point?

So here we are again — that point in the game cycle where almost every player becomes overpowered, and the meta boils down to one thing: R1 speed boost
As someone who’s been playing since FIFA International Soccer (1993), it’s honestly disheartening to see how little incentive there is to use skill moves. You’ve created a fantastic library of over 70 unique skill moves, but most of them are practically useless in competitive play. It’s always the same thing: R1 speed boost

I personally enjoy using skill moves and playing creatively, but in both FC24 and FC25, it feels like you’re punished for doing so. Try anything fancy, and you’re instantly tackled, while spamming R1 or R2 seems to be rewarded with unstoppable momentum.

I float between Division 3 and 4, mostly because I can’t dedicate as much time to playing. But even there, it’s rare to see anyone use actual skill just robotic gameplay based on the same rinse-and-repeat tactics

Please consider this as constructive feedback: the game needs to reward creativity, not just mechanical exploitation. Skill moves should be viable not just for flair, but as a real gameplay option. It would add depth, variety, and a lot more satisfaction for players like me who love the artistry of the game.
Thanks for your time, and I hope this is something your team can consider in future updates or titles.

Best regards,
A long-time player and fan

  • You can use skill moves for speed boosts too like flip flaps. The problem is while skill moves are broken and need the speed boosts removed the lb is just easier and better. If they nerf that it would be back to step over pop and lock into flip flaps.
