Very variable ping when playing fifa online

Hi.  I'm struggling with very variable ping when playing online ea games. Usually my ping is between 30-40, but often I also get pings over 200. I have a stable fiber internet 1000/1000 ms- and the problem with high latency only occurs when I play online ea games. Why? When I google the problem I read that it is most likely about overload on the ea server or that I am being transferred to an ea server far away. Is this the case? If this is the case - shouldn't ea expand or upgrade their servers so that everyone gets maximum enjoyment from playing ea online games? I live in Norway by the way..
