After selecting my profile I can only see a gray screen

My game has worked without a problem for a while, but for days now when I try to load up the game, after I select my profile it gets stuck on a gray screen. I can hear in the background that the game has loaded in, but I can't see anything. I tried every method that I saw on this forum and others, but it still doesn't work, which is unacceptable for a game this big and expensive. Are there any fixes or did I just throw money out the window purchasing it?
