Anyone able to play cross-play co-op rivals?

Trying to play Co-op rivals with my buddy on Xbox (I'm on PC) and every game we go into we get disconnected at exactly 00:43 and both given a loss for the game. 

Please, if anyone has found the usual completely stupid work around that EA couldn't figure out themselves despite being one of the biggest game developers and richest companies in the world, let me know. 

I hope EA intend on refunding everyone who paid extra for early access as any other developer would be ashamed to call this an alpha let alone a beta.
