Continously losing control over my players in EA FC 25

I cant play online games, as soon as I jump in I cant control any players, my controller becomes useless ingame, but as soon as the ingame menu comes up its fine. Ive tried veryfying my game files, Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, I use an ps5 controller plugged in via usb to my computer, and thats not the problem. Any help please its so frustrating I can only do offline games.

    It is only possible to control players via the keyboard, I cannot control players with the controller, whether using the Microsoft controller or the PS4 controller. The CHOOSE SIDE option does not appear in the game settings, so I am forced to control my players with the keyboard instead of the controller.

    This bug has been affecting me since FIFA 23 and I can't resolve it.
