FUT Black Screen resulting in DNF or Black Screen

Hi, 

I have been struggling to play FUT Rivals on PC

There is couple things that happens. 

1.After finding an opponent, selecting the kit and pressing ready. The timer will freeze and the screen won’t change and I can not back out with escape or Circle in my controller. The player on the screen is still moving however. For me to only get out of the screen is that I have to close the game, thankfully I do not get “DNF” for this. 

2. I always get when I finish selecting the kit and readying up, the screen will turn black and either go two ways which will give two different scenarios:

2a. Scenario one: 

The commentary will start if both me and opponent hit skip or will hear the players get ready, but it stay on the black screen, the audio stops, the pitch will flash on the screen quickly and then go back to a black screen. It will stay like and I have to close the game which will result in me getting DNF. 

2b. Scenario two: 

As the game is loading up after readying up, it will freeze for a couple second and carry on, this will result in message saying I have lost connection after couple seconds. 

I have played offline without any issues. Anything in FUT I get these problems. 

I have tried nearly everything from forums: 

  • deleting my team on web app and any tactics and creating a new team 
  • selecting a new stadium 
  • making sure all sbc storage is clear and I have no duplicates 
  • I have ran both the EA app and EA FC25 as administrator 
  • I have logged out and logged back in EA 
  • I have repaired the EA FC25 and uninstall and installed game multiple times 
  • I have used google dns, other dns and flushed my DNS 
  • I have ran both EA app and EA FC25 in compatibility mode as well
  • i have the lasted driver for my GPU and latest update on windows 
  • I have set my Nvidia panel to default as well 
  • I have also launched the game through GeForce as well 
  • I have used auto settings, low settings in both 1080p and 1440p in full screen, windowed and windowed borderless

I have done a lot more troubleshooting but I can not remember anything at the moment so if I remember I will add it here. 

I am on PC with Ethernet Connection.

My current set up is: 

Motherboard: MSI B650M GAMING PLUS WIFI DDR5 AMD AM5 MicroATX
CPU: Ryzen 7 7800x3D
RAM: 32GB Kingston FURY Beast White DDR5 6000MHz CL30
GPU: 4070 Ti SUPER 16G GAMING X SLIM WHITE (16 GB)
PSU: Corsair RM850e (2023)

I have no issue with my broadband and I do not get any lag or anything in other games. 

please can someone help me, I just want to play the game I have paid 89.99 for.

    thats great. I can’t use my router until Monday 😭

    Spent a lot on this decos as well. Is it the x20 you have ?

    I think I have x4’s, was to far away in my old house to use the router but closer in my new one and seems to be good! So strange though why it’s happening with decos

    I also have the Deco X20 and mixture of M4 AC1200. 

    So, for the black screen fix and not to freeze anymore, I had to turn off EXPO for my RAM and lowered the MHZ to 4800. Made sure that EA app, EA FC25 app and EA Anti-Cheat was running has administrator only as the compability mode and other settings was messing it up. 

    Now I tried both WiFi connection straight to the router, I am stll getting full bars and the wired connection to my Deco, I am now struggling to find opponents on FUT champs (says no opponent found or I lost connection to them). 

    Another issue I am getting is, when I get into Rush Mode, after the opponent is found, my screen is stuck on opponent found, so I have to close the game. 

    Still trying to figure if there anyting else I can try.

  • same here can't find a souloution tried closing the game and opened it again but it is still stuck on the black screen when i select kits

  • Are you on PC or Playstation? 

    If you are on PC, trying turning your XMP (Intel) or EXPO (AMD) off and setting the Mhz to default

    That has fixed my issue with the black screen after selecting the kits

    But I am still having issues with other game modes, can't even load into rush

    my advise is dont use your deco x20.

    just test directly with to your router, with wifi.

    That will help you confirm thats its the deco.

    I dont think ea will be able to do anything about that.

    Since i have moved directly to my router, i have had 0 issues.

  • What I realise is something weird. 

    Connecting directy to WiFi or Mobile Hotspot or the Deco X20, there is no difference I still occansially still get connection lost or it will get stuck on the black screen. 

    Before I couldn't even play rush with my friends,everytime I am in a lobby with them, after it says "loading Match" it will disconnect me but it won't tell me, my friends will get a teammate has disconnected, but I will be stuck on the loading match. 

    To fix this, I did reset PC and installed nothing but EA FC 25 thats it. Thats working Fine. 

    I think to fix the black screen issue in Rivals, I think I need to play a lower Resolution in full screen mode, will let you know if that works

    Hi Guys, 

    I've found the fix to this issue. 

    After reinstalling Windows 11 by doing "Reset PC" and essentially just having nothing downloaded but these things: 

    • Google Chrome 
    • Discord 
    • EA App
    • EA FC25 
    • Latest Driver for 4070 Super Ti 

    I also made sure to disable EXPO mode and set my RAM to 4800Mhz (Will test it with it on, as I've not tested it after the resetting my PC) 

    I can play both Full Screen or Windows Borderles, I left my graphic settings to Auto as well. 

    I make sure I do not connect to the Deco Mesh anymore, I just connect to my acutal Wifi rather than my mesh systems. 

    After doing this, I have experienced zero issues. 

    Will keep this updated if I get anymore issues.
