Game won't open from EA app - PC

Has anyone else encountered this issue - when I go to open the game on the EA app - I get a pop up box saying "Sign in with your EA account to activate EA Sports FC25 (Trial) on this computer"

I'm already signed in so I'm not sure why this pops up - any attempts to enter my details don't work either the pop up just disappears then comes back.

So I completely can't get in - I've tried re-downloading the game, restarting the desktop etc. No idea what to do. Maybe the trial of the game is no longer functional? I would just purchase the game but I'm fearful that it will still not work if I purchase it or get EA pro. If anyone has a solution please let me know. I should add my trial still has 5 hours left on it.
