Multiplayer Controller Issue (remote play) on FC 25

On an Xbox one -

When I'm playing with remote play with another person (playing directly on the console) we change controls individually as we use different presets. The issue is, sometimes it works just fine by making different personalized presets for both of us, but (usually happens if one of the controller disconnects during a match and rejoins) sometimes one of the players gets their preset reverted to classic, and when you try changing it, it just wont. Tried restarting the game, and the same thing keeps happening.
