In my reply it is noted that, it may not work first time, you'd have to do it again later and see if it works.

I’m on Xbox, would I have to delete save files within the game? Or delete save files through Xbox settings?

Managed to get mine working just going from UT to Clubs and waiting until the rewards pop up and then it allowed me to get onto clubs and remove players.
Which console are you on and what steps exactly did you follow? @craigboyyyyyyy
