I think it might have something to do with the new checkpoint saving in career mode, I had access to the Xbox One version of the game up until Saturday when I tried to play career mode.  Now I have no access to the game and am presented with the error again.

  • That's interesting. Mine is still broken, but the only mode I really play is career mode so that could be where the glitch is coming from? I'm really close to going through the refund process as I bought the ultimate edition primarily for the early access, which clearly I'm not getting.

    I have had this issue three times.

    The ONLY solution is to go into the storage for the game, go to saved data and your profile and choose "Delete from everywhere". This will allow you to go back into the game.

    But to quote this person, it is all to do with the MANUAL CHECKPOINTS. I tested this about an hour ago. I created many autosaved for one manager career, backed out the entire game and hard quit it, went back in to the game and it was fine. I then added a Manual Checkpoint (save), hard quit the game and went back into it, and then this issue came back.

    For everyone that plays an offline mode like Career Mode, DO NOT CREATE MANUAL CHECKPOINTS. Just use multiple autosaves.

    This will be a bit annoying for someone like me however who tests out a different save for things like scouting players and advancing and transfers/contract testing best deals and then reverting back to the proper save.

    Figured it had something to do with the new checkpoint feature as it happened right after using for the first time. 

    Got to love EA, "check out our new feature, which will break your game and render it unplayable. Enjoy!" How do we go about getting refunds for our early access we paid for and cant use?

  • Hi all, believe I have figured out a fix for Xbox series x without having to delete all your cloud saves. It is definitely to do with checkpoints on career mode. Here is what just worked for me:

    -delete saved data from console only

    -load game but do not allow cloud sync

    -create a new career mode and save a checkpoint

    -quit game

    -re enter game and allow cloud sync to take place

    -now you should have all old saves back including the one you just made

    -delete any checkpoint saves for your desired career to stop issue happening again

    Thanks. Tried that but despite cancelling the synch it seems to go through no matter how quickly i try to cancel. 24 hours later and i still cannot access the game i paid for and we still have nothing from EA.

  • @EA_Darko can we have an update as to how long this fix will take? It’s quite frustrating when you spend 90 quid or equivalent elsewhere and haven’t actually been able to play the game for longer than 2 days. 

  • I demanded a refund from EA. I suggest everyone until they patch this. The "checkpoint slots" was the dumbest idea they have ever had and it wasn't even functional when they released the game

    Hey bro, thx for the info. Had the same problem happen today after i did my xbox update. Tried all i could to fix it, no fkn luck. So uninstalled gm, deleted local saved data and reinstalling game again. Still installing even now actually lol.. How can i stop game from wanting to sync when relaunch it is my concern

  • @klunsta When you start te game on xbox you see the screen syncing right? You can cancel that.
    The button is under the text.
    I see that screen on my xbox.

    @TheInsaneFlame Ok.. thx for tip. Will keep close watch on it. Appreciate it. Better bloody work tho, or ea got sone serious fkn explaining to do!! They truly are a garbage company, and by choice that is! Have had yrs to resolve things for the diehard fifa community, but all they care about is how much they can scam ppl out of pocket, buying store packs in UT mode.. Truly disgusting their attitudes, and dont ever expect if to change. They will spin * till blue in face, just to fool us inti thinking they just may start listening to the ppl. But just like all govcos, play from the same book of shame and deceptiom
