I also have the same problem and I also cannot play. I've tried to clear my ea cache, reinstall, only launch from EA, turning off my login verification and nothing has worked. The 7 days of pre-release is almost over and I haven't been able to play once.
Thanks for the additional info. I'll forward it to the team. This is a really weird one, but if any of you folks have further insights or tried something that worked, please let us know.

@gerryadams788888 Have you tried all the steps mentioned here, like uninstalling it everywhere and launching it directly via the EA app? Also making sure your correct accounts are linked? - 5 months ago
@EA_Vendcera any updates on this issue? The game fully released and I still cannot play, pre-release week is over and ultimate edition is wasted.

I already tried that, also apart from that, bought steam EA Play sub. Nothing works.

Can someone explain what can I do more to contact EA to make this game playable? Can I call them? Can I email them? Can I do something more? I will not stop until I have the game playable online.
