Ultimate Team option not showing on new install

Hi, I have just installed FC25 on another (new for us) Xbox one X.  My son purchased this on launch last year.  FC25 is  installed but when my son logs in there is no option for 'Ultimate Team' at all.  His progress and trophies etc are all showing against his account but the option is just not there.  Please help, I have spent hours on this problem.  It is the core (standard) edition.  He has an EA account and xbox account and is logged in to the xbox.
