Unable to view friend his name is fully greyed out

My friend was banned for a week upon returning i can no longer see him on friends list which is an fc 25 problem only as i can play with him and see his name on apex and on EA App. This occurred before and took ages for self resolutions. I can "receive" invites from him but his name never fully loads if i hover over him name with the mouse its not even registering it as a clickable friend this is frustrating as I can not even play with my friend due to ea issues I've tried to remove and readd him didn't work i need help.
