Can you access the Companion app whilst using the 10 hour trial?

Can you use the Companion app whilst playing with the 10 hour trial obtained via my EA Play subscription?

I played FC24 but then haven't bought FC25 yet. I've started using the trial as TOTS is out, but when I log into the app, it won't let me progress.

I use the same EA details I log into here with and it displays the correct PSN name, but says it won't let me in until I've logged in on the console, which I have dozens of times since.

The message says:

Early Web and Mobile Access has expired. You need to login to Football U|timate Team 25 on your Console or PC to continue using this account. Your U|timate Team Club data has been saved and will be available the next time you login.

Is this because I'm using the trial hours? If so then that's a bit scummy as it's meant to be a benefit and perk from subscribing to EA Play.

Any ideas? As far as I'm aware, it's the same account as FC24 and the app has just updated. I've uninstalled it and reloaded, as well as logged out & back in, but still get the same message.

10 hrs trial access isn't a demo. But EA does not count you having access to the full game as far as I know. Here are some of the facts-

    1. Once you create Ultimate Team on a 10-hour free trial, it will remain against your EA account on an EA server. Once you buy the full license version, you will be able to continue with the same team, and you don't have to start with a new ultimate team.
    2. As far as I know, some of the full-game access benefits (like preorder or founder or club member rewards, etc.) are not attached with 10-hour trials. So in rewards and benefits, it does not count you having a full game.
    3. To continue on the Web/Companion App, you will need an actual full game license (without trial benefits).

    Hope this helps.

  • As far as I know, you will need full game access on the console/pc version. Once you log in into full game access, you will be able to continue using the web/companion app.

Also, you cannot access FC24 ultimate team on the app. When a new game launches, the app is updated to a new version i.e. FC25 currently.

  • Thanks for the reply. I suppose what I'm asking is does the 10 hour trial count as having access to the full game?

It isn't a demo with restricted modes etc, it is the full game, just with a timer reminder when you load it up. I can do everything that I'd be able to if I paid for the game but I don't know if EA are counting it as not the full game.

Regarding FC24, I know you can't access it as soon as the new game comes out but it is still classed as the Companion app in the store and requires an update to change it from FC24 to FC25.

The point I was making is that I'd accessed FC24 for the whole year it was released with the login details I've logged in with now, so they do work.

Regarding the app, I know you can only access the current year once it is launched, but the store still has it as the EA FC app. It updates the version when you search for it to be the latest version i.e. FC25

The point I was making is that because it did that, I am using the same account details that worked for all of FC24, so it shouldn't be the incorrect login details causing the message I'm receiving.

It flashes up a message saying "Can't find community" then just shows my original post & this one, but with 5 replies indicated

Thanks mate. I thought it would be something like that.

I don't know why EA are shady like this and won't just open it up so you get the full experience. The trial is meant to encourage you to buy the game, so being petty like this is counterproductive.

I really do not understand your viewpoint here. I don't think there is anything shady here. You are getting a full game modes experience during this 10-hour trial.
