I have my defensive approach set to 63 but when the game start at some point it changes to 70. I tried changing the defensive approach to 59 and same thing happened this time changing to 50. Seems to change to whatever the default is for the balanced/high etc
I’ve been experiencing the same thing, very annoying as I try to play with a deep line at 34 but it changes to 50.
Hoping they patch this up soon

same here since a couple of days. When set and saved at 90 it Changes in game to 70. When set to 91-99 it changes to 95. Also when changing something in te tactic (which is not the “active” tactic) it randomly mixes up Some plagers in my Squad.
hope someone from EA can help us out or will look into this. Have seen more topics about this bug, but not a single reaction from EA..

Manual defending is awful and auto is awful. They are both broken. Auto seems to have better defending and better response,
All people do is.......... as you move a player to tackle a player they pass to their player that's now free as the player moved!!. - That not right..........
So you highlight a player behind them to try and stop taking player out of position but the other player is no close enough.
Its all out of sync. This is not football
