There is a theory that's circulated for a while that if you take a break from the game for a week or so, or play less frequently, the first packs you get contain some very good cards, in order to entice you back into playing the game regularly. It certainly works on the mobile version of the game, which my son plays. He only logs in once a week and packs so many very good or great cards.
Yeah, thats an old theory I also know / heard of and sometimes it really feels like that..
But when i look at my buddy (who got extreme pack luck nearly everyday with Rush Wirtz, Neymar, Walker, Maignan, Haaland,..) in direct comparison, that theory would be ruled out, beacuse I know that he usually plays 1-2 games almost every day or at least logs in daily.
The past years I also had some sort of pack-luck, especially at the beginning of every Fifa with untradebale BUT playable cards like B. Fernades, Mendy, Maignan,.. , but after my complaint / coin swipe at the beginning of 2024, it's completly gone.
I think the majority of players will feel that they don't have much / any pack luck compared to a minority of users. My son used to watch YouTubers opening packs and pulling great cards, then he'd go on his PS in the expectation that he'd soon have an Mbappe, Haaland, etc, and quickly come away disappointed. I think our three best cards so far in EA FC 25 have been gold Foden and Donnarumma, and Rush Marquinhos - decent, but not spectacular.
I must have opened over 220 packs (completed seasons path, 300,000 (won not purchased) worth of coins spent on packs, almost all current objectives done) equalling to just under 1000 cards.
In those 1050 cards yes I have received around 20 rare plain gold cards rated between 89-91 but I have received exactly 1 TOTW player (87 Horan) and 1 RTTK player (85 Otamendi). Have NEVER received a RUSH special card through packs!
Really got to love those odds 2/1050 or -55000 haha
