Passes keep locking on to wrong player

I've been having this issue all year, but in the new friendly mode it's even worse. For example on numerous occasions I've tried to dink a pass in to my CDM or CAM from my RM and it locks on to my LM instead. I've not put anywhere near enough power ( about 1.5 bars) on the pass for it to lock on to a player on the other side of the pitch!

Similarly, I've been near the side of my opponent's penalty area from a corner and I'm trying to pass back to the D outside the box where I have 2 players waiting for a pass and instead it is locking on to one of my CBs who is standing on the halfway line. Again my pass is for about 2 bars of power and it should not lock on to a player that far away.

These are the most obvious examples, but a similar problem occurs incredibly frequently when just passing through midfield, with the ball locking onto targets behind the player I'm aiming at.

The other issue is chipped through balls locking on to players who are standing still and not in the direction the pass is aimed instead of the runner who has played a 1-2 with the passer and is in the direction the pass is targeted. It is extremely frustrating and has cost me so many chances to score this year.
